Sourcing and evidence We substantiate claims with primary documentation, device logs, and replicable field tests. When citing research, we link to original studies or standards bodies. We avoid marketing language and clearly label speculation or roadmap items.

Review process • Selection: We prioritize devices that meaningfully affect readers’ choices across sizes, budgets, ecosystems, and privacy postures. • Testing: Every device is evaluated against our Fit, Facts, Footprint rubric using defined protocols for comfort, accuracy, battery, water resistance, app UX, privacy, and total cost of ownership. • Scoring: We publish rubric weights and explain trade‑offs in plain language. • Updates: We revisit scores after firmware updates, new accessories, or policy changes that alter real‑world performance or cost.

Diversity and inclusion Our tester panel includes a range of wrist sizes, skin tones, genders, tattoos, and schedules (including shift workers and caregivers). Content avoids shaming and supports sustainable habits.

Corrections and transparency If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the change at the bottom of the page with a timestamp. For significant updates, we add an editor’s note.
